In the Lowcountry of South Carolina, shrimp and grits has been considered a breakfast staple for coastal fishermen and families for decades. This dish consisted of a pot of grits with shrimp, cooked in a little bacon grease or butter. During the shrimp season, a Southerner’s taste for eating shrimp and grits was a religion, as breakfast without grits was unimaginable. In the spirit of offering traditional family recipes, Killer Cafe has brought the flavors of the South to the Beaches of the Southwest.  Their own version of the  traditional southern “breakfast shrimp” has been lovingly renamed Killer Shrimp and Grits, and has been dressed up with it’s own signature broth for those who crave the taste of  ”down home” cooking. Blending the roots of  Southern tradition with a familiar signature touch, Killer Shrimp and Grits have quickly become a town favorite and a rare Southern treat customers are falling in love with. Killer Shrimp and Grits has star status at birth, adorned with parent restaurant Killer Shrimp’s famous broth and tenderly sauteed shrimp. The perfectly prepared hominy grits are smooth in texture and rich with flavor, and make for an incredible base for the spicy dish. “Our customers are looking for familliar flavors and the comforts of home,” says Kevin Michaels, Killer Cafe creator. “Our Killer Shrimp broth makes that happen and our customers are loving it.”
